‘Sayal’ Hanging Lamp

Inspired by foliose corals that are abundant in the marine sanctuaries in Dumaguete, Philippines, the ‘Sayal’ Hanging Lamp dances like the waves of the ocean.

From a production standpoint, the lamp is interesting because it packs relatively flat yet looks large. All the buri sticks are straight, which reduces stress and breakage of sticks during production, yet the lamp looks sculptural. At certain desired angles, the bulb is diffused using minimal material. Basically, the lamp makes a large impact despite being reduced to a simple design.

Designed for Hacienda Crafts.
