Dear Dusk,

From the Letters to Home Collection, ‘Dear, Dusk’ is a 100% biodegradable, fire-retardant candler stick holder made with brown seaweed sourced from Tasmania.

Seaweed helps deacidify the ocean and can remove heavy metals, so by using parts of seaweed considered waste by the local seaweed food/pharmaceutical industry, ‘Dear, Diya’ can help lock up carbon, clean the environment, and support the growth of the seaweed industry.

Designed with Shimroth John Thomas, who invented the material during lockdown. During a time of disconnection, the views of the St Kilda sunset inspired him to continue building a brighter future for the planet.

The circular design thinking that goes into a humble candle holder makes it appropriate for any activity involving mindfulness and appreciation for life’s interconnections.
