“Buco”Dessert Bowls

“Buco” is a double-walled bone china dessert bowl best used for icy desserts like halo-halo (a Philippine shaved ice dessert).

The inspiration is simple: a young coconut, which called “buko” in Tagalog. With a simple glaze, light collects insight the bowl to signify nourishment and freshness.

The innovative double wall provides insulation and prevents “sweating” caused by condensation of cold desserts.

Designed for CSM Philippines, Inc.

Made as part of the New Design Graduates Training program of the Design Center of the Philippines, with program mentor Tony Gonzales and program advisor Josef Crisanto.
